PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil composition for internal combustion engine excellent in performance required for engine system and in power transmission performance( higher coefficient of friction to wet clutch ). SOLUTION: The lubricating oil composition for internal combustion engine is such that a lubricating base oil is added with, based on the whole composition, (a) 0.03-0.20 mass%, on a phosphorus basis, of a dialkyl dithiophosphate zinc salt and (b)≥0.02 mass%, on a boron basis, of a boron-containing ashless dispersant, wherein the mass ratio of boron content B to nitrogen content N(B/N) in the ashless dispersant is≥0.4 and the nitrogen content of this composition is≥0.05 mass%.
