SUN TRACKING AND DRIVING SENSOR

PURPOSE: A solar tracking drive sensor for a solar power generator is provided to improve generation efficiency by detecting the azimuth and altitude of the sun and moving a solar panel according to the detected altitude and azimuth. CONSTITUTION: A solar tracking drive sensor for a solar power generator comprises a sunlight sensing member and an azimuth computing and controlling unit(40). The sunlight sensing member is installed vertically on the top of the solar panel and equipped with east and west azimuthal sensors(30,31) and a sunset sensor(32) to sense the quantity of sunlight according to location. The azimuth computing and controlling unit computes the east-west azimuth of the sun using the difference between the amounts of solar light detected by the east and west azimuthal sensors and drives an azimuth drive motor(50) according to the computed azimuth information so that the amount of the sunlight detected by the east azimuthal sensor becomes equal to that by the west azimuthal sensor.
