The method of making a container comprises forming a blank 1 made from a pliable sheet material and having a rib 2 formed along a length thereof into a tubular body 9 such that the rib 2 projects inwardly into said tubular body 9. A closure member 11 is then positioned within the tubular body 9, supported by at least a portion of the rib 2. The step of forming the blank 1 into the tubular body may comprise forming a plurality of connected blanks (1a, 1b, 1c) into a plurality of connected tubular bodies (see figs 5, 6). The cross-section of the tubular body may be circular, oval, square, rectangular or hexagonal. The rib 2 may be formed by passing the blank through a set of embossing rollers (see fig 2), or between a creasing rule and a groove (see fig 3). |
