The present invention relates to an automatic blood sampling device comprising a catheter part being operatively connected to a penetration member, the operatively connection between the catheter part and the penetration member being provided via one or more tube sections. The device further comprises pump means being adapted to pump blood through the catheter part and the penetration member and into a storage container, the storage container being adapted to contain a blood sample. The penetration member, typically a needle or a canulla, is adapted to penetrate a flexible member, typically a seal in the form of a rubber membrane, of the storage container. The blood sampling device can be preprogrammed to perform a series of preprogrammed events, such as taking independent blood samples on animals with certain time intervals. |
