A single-dose non-pressurised fluid dispensing canister comprises two parts 11, 12 (see figure 2) movable relatively towards one another from a starting position, a mechanism which prevents return movement of said parts once the dose has been dispensed, and a spray nozzle 25 having an axial spray orifice 52, a plurality of ports 56 spaced radially from the orifice axis, a vortex chamber 60 that communicates with the spray orifice, and a swirl/ turbine channel 58 extending radially inwards from each port to the vortex chamber, the turbine channels being orientated to impart, in use, a swirl to the dose entering the chamber. The spray nozzle may be attached to a pin 23 located in a bore. A removable cap 32, 34 may protect the outlet orifice. The two parts of the canister and the spray nozzle may be made of an amorphous, copolymer of cyclic olefins and ethylene. Preferably the spray dispenses liquid narcotic such as Sufentanil sublingually. |
