Turbo charger with variable turbine geometry

The turbocharger has a variable turbine geometry and guide vanes (9) that are adjustable in a radial gap (7), where gas flows through the gap. The vanes are arranged at a carrier ring (11) forming a radial wall of the gap and are pivotably supported around an axle (10) parallel to a ring axle. The ring is axially stressable by a helical compression spring (18) and a collar spring (19) against relative fixed stops (16). The springs act on the ring within a ring area at a side of the ring, where the side is turned away from the stops and the area is arranged radially adjacent to the stops.
