<p>PURPOSE: An air conditioner and a control method thereof are provided to enable a user to get efficient sleep. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner comprises an air-conditioning unit, an input unit, and a controller. The air conditioning unit includes various parts for air-conditioning an indoor space. An operation signal for the operation of the air-conditioning unit and another operation signal for the selection of a sleeping mode are input with the input unit. If the operation signal for the selection of the sleeping mode is input to the input unit, the controller alternately performs a sleeping operation and a REM sleeping operation by controlling the air-conditioning unit. The indoor space is air-conditioned to a higher temperature than the temperature of the sleeping operation in the REM sleeping operation. The REM sleeping operation is performed at predetermined time intervals.</p> |
