摘要 The present invention refers to a measurement device integrated by a Laser COMS sensor, a radio transmitter, a microprocessor for obtaining an analogue measurement transformed into digital so that it is transmitter to the user or supplier. A camera snaps 3000 images per second and a LED lightening the surface of a measuring disc. Said light is reflected over the surface of the disc and captured by the laser CMOS sensor. The sensor sends each image to a digital signal processor DSP so that they may be analysed. The DSP operated at 18 MIPS (million of instructions per second) is able to detect patterns in the images and how said patterns were moved with regard to the last image. Based on the change in an image sequence, the DSP determines how much the disc of the meter was moved and then sends the corresponding coordinates to the microprocessor. The resolution is of 400 characters per inch CPI and requires a motion rate of up to 12 inches per second IPS.
