METHOD FOR PREVENTING CATALYST OVERHEATING

PURPOSE: A catalyst overheating prevention method is provided to solve the decrement problem of fuel efficiency due to the execution of the engine control to prevent catalyst overheating in a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A catalyst overheating prevention method comprises following steps. The catalytic temperature of a vehicle is measured(S3). The catalytic temperature is mapped with a catalytic temperature modeling value. Whether or not the modeling value is over predetermined value and allowable temperature critical value is determined(S7,S9). Fuel is sprayed(S17) after calculating the fuel injection amount by performing a catalyst overheating prevention logic according to the determination(S15).
