PURPOSE: A dishwasher and a water supplying method thereof are provided to prevent water leakage due to excessive water supply by stopping supplying water if two detection units detect that a sufficient amount of water has been supplied. CONSTITUTION: A dishwasher(100) comprises a washing tub(110), a sump(106), a washing-water supplying unit, a spray unit, first and second detection units, and a controller. The sump is located at the lower part of the washing tub and stores washing water. The washing-water supplying unit supplies the washing water to the sump. The spray unit sprays the washing water from the sump to objects. The first detection unit detects the amount of the washing water supplied to the sump. The second detection unit detects the height of the washing water from the sump. If at least one of the first and second detection units detects that a predetermined amount of washing water has been supplied, the controller stops supplying the washing water. |
