BOOST CONVERTER USING SOFT-SWICHING

PURPOSE: A boost converter is provided to offer a soft switching converter which is near to the ideal soft switching technology by simultaneously operating a zero voltage turn-on state and a zero current turn-off state by using additional elements. CONSTITUTION: A main inductor(Lp) is serially connected to an input power source. A sub-inductor(Ls) is connected to the main inductor with a tap. A main diode(D) is serially connected to the second side end part of the sub-inductor and is connected to an output terminal. A main switch(S) is connected to the second side end part of the sub-inductor, an input power, and the common terminal of the output terminal. A subsidiary diode(Dx) is connected from a tap which connects the main inductor to the sub-inductor to the output terminal. An auxiliary switch(Sx) is connected to a tap and a common terminal which connect the main inductor and the sub-inductor. A diode(D1,D2) for switch protection is connected in the main switch and the auxiliary switch in parallel in a reverse direction, respectively. A condenser(Cs) is connected to the main switch in parallel.
