PURPOSE: A light source driving method, a light source device for performing the same, and a display device having the light source device are provided to control the generation of inrush current when driving the initial light source. CONSTITUTION: A dimming duty ratio of each light emitting block is decided by using a plural image blocks corresponding to the light emitting blocks(S120). Based on the dimming duty ratio and current peak value information, the first driving signal applied in each light emitting block is generated(S130). The second driving signal of the level lower than the level of the first driving signal is generated(S140). The light emitting blocks are driven with the second driving signal(S150). The light emitting blocks are driven with the first driving signal after set time(S160,170).
