The seat (1) has a bell-crank lever i.e. pivoting cushion, including two arms that are provided with respective free ends and are pivoted around a horizontal and transverse axis. The lever is freely mounted in rotation around the axis in an intersection zone between a base (2) and a backrest (4) such that the free ends of arms push the base and the backrest in an alternate manner for alternately extending length of the base and height of the backrest. The lever is actuated by a single control unit (12) e.g. ratchet lever or notched star wheel.
