<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide some immunologically active new polypeptide fragments derived from Mycobacterium tuberculosis, vaccines and other immunological compositions including the fragments as an immunogenic component, a method for producing the polypeptide, and uses thereof. <P>SOLUTION: There are disclosed polypeptides and immunologically active fragments thereof, genes encoding them, immunological compositions such as vaccines, and skin test reagents including the peptides on the basis of the discovery that some new protein fragments derived from M. tuberculosis have been identified and further fusion products between ESAT-6 and MPT59 have superior immunogenicity compared to each of the unfused proteins, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
