<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing material for a solar cell that is crosslinked in a relatively short time to give sufficient adhesive forces when a solar cell element and a protecting material are fixed to form a solar cell module, and is excellent in transparency, flexibility, weather resistance, sheet staining resistance, and the like. <P>SOLUTION: The sealing material for a solar cell comprises a composition comprising the following components (A), (B) and (C). Component (A): An ethylene-α-olefin copolymer obtained by polymerization using a metallocene catalyst and having properties of (a1)-(a4): (a1) a melt flow rate (MFR: 190°C, a load of 21.18 N) of 0.1-50 g/10 min; (a2) a density of 0.860-0.920 g/cm<SP>3</SP>; (a3) a ratio of the Z-average molecular weight (Mz) to the number-average molecular weight (Mn), Mz/Mn, as measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC), of at most 8.0; and (a4) an α-olefin content of 6-40 wt.%.
