<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical unit capable of composing light with different spectra and improving the emission efficiency of composed light, and an illuminating device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The optical unit 1 includes a light composition surface 8 transmitting a first beam of light 3 while reflecting a second beam of light 2 having a different spectrum from the first beam of light 3, in the optical axis direction of the first beam of light 3 at a predetermined reflectance to compose the first beam of light 3 and second beam of light 2, and a first prism 5 reflecting the second beam of light 2 transmitted through the light composition surface 8, in the optical axis direction of the first beam of light 3 to guide the second beam of light 2 again to the light composition surface 8.
