<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically evaluate the quality of pictures, reduce manpower consumption, and increase an amusement function. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An image quality evaluation device includes an image analyzer adapted to analyze parameters of an image and acquire parameter values, and an evaluation unit adapted to evaluate the quality of the image based on the parameter values according to a predetermined criteria and output evaluation results. A method for evaluating the quality of the image includes analyzing the parameters of an image to acquire parameter values, and evaluating the quality of the image based on the parameter values according the predetermined criteria to output evaluation results. Using the image quality evaluation device and the method thereof, parameters of the image are analyzed to acquire parameter values by image recognition technique, and then parameter values are output according to the predetermined criteria.
