<p>A post (1) is provided for use in a road safety fence. The post comprises a receiving means (13, 30), e.g. a slot or notch, for accommodating a wire rope or cable (5, 7, 9, 11). The slot has an open end (15) for receiving the rope. A yieldable restraint (17, 19, 27, 29, 32) is provided at or near the slot opening for resisting exit of the wire rope therefrom when a vehicle impacts the post or the fence. A road safety fence incorporating one or more such posts, and a method of forming the same, is also provided.</p> |
