<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent characters in an image from remaining untranslated when the whole Web page is machine-translated. <P>SOLUTION: HTML data including at least one set of visible image reference data (URL) including characters and invisible text data set to be displayed in a region superimposed on the image, is stored in a WebDB 13. In translation, the invisible text data is made visible, and the visible image is made invisible. A general text 410a and an image 420 including characters are displayed on the untranslated Web page (Fig.4(a-1)).
