PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a method of exclusively arranging dots having different colors, although effective unless there is no error on a strike position of any dot when a color image is formed by printing by superposing of inks having two or more colors, actually generates an error due to a strike position of a satellite occurs so that color irregularities occur. SOLUTION: A scanning duty setting section 105 calculates out a scanning duty per nozzle on the basis of input image data by each scanning of a recording head. A halftone processing section 108 generates a dot pattern to be formed by applying binarization based on predetermined restriction information to the calculated scanning duty. A restriction information computing section 113 generates restriction information that is referred to by the halftone processing section 108 about a second color to be processed next, on the basis of the scanning duty calculated about a first color, the dot pattern, and an amount of satellites detected by a satellite amount detecting section 207.
