PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the harmonic components of alternating magnetic flux passing through a main magnetic circuit and reduce the iron loss produced in other regions of the main magnetic circuit, without causing reduction in the torque. SOLUTION: In an electric motor 1, a measure is taken wherein a stress change region 9, where stress is made different from that in the other regions, is set in a part of a magnetic material corresponding to the main magnetic circuit MC.
