PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper container in which the oxygen barrier property is less degraded even after the paper container is subjected to the folding or the retort processing, and the appearance thereof is still excellent even after the retort processing. SOLUTION: The paper container is formed by using a laminate including a paper layer and a gas barrier layer. The gas barrier layer is made of a composition containing a hydrolysis condensation product of at least one kind of compound (L) including a characteristic group having hydrolyzability, and a polymer (X) containing a carboxylic group and/or a carboxylic anhydride group. At least a part of -COO-group of the polymer (X) is neutralized and/or reacted by a compound (P) containing two or more amino groups. At least a part of -COO-group of the polymer (X) is neutralized by at least divalent metal ions. The ratio of [equivalent of amino group contained in the compound (P)]/[equivalent of -COO-group of the polymer (X)] is in a range of 0.2/100 to 20.0/100. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
