<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device having excellent static electricity resistance, preventing a circuit constitution from being complicated or enlarged, and a television receiving device using the display device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device (display device) including a liquid crystal panel (display part) for displaying information includes: a plurality of source wirings (data wiring) S1-SM; a source driver (data wiring driving part) 25 connected to one end side of each of the plurality of source wiring S1-SM, for outputting a source signal (data signal) corresponding to information displayed on the liquid crystal panel to each of the plurality of source wirings S1-SM; and an image processing part 24 receiving an image signal from the outside, to generate a source signal based on the input image signal, and outputting it to the source driver 25. The device further includes a current monitoring part 24a1 for monitoring a current value of the source signal output from the image processing part 24 to the source driver 25.
