Disclosed is a touch panel device equipped with multiple touch position detection electrodes provided in a touch region, and a detection circuit that detects a touch position based on the electrostatic capacitance formed between the touch position detection electrodes and a contact body. The multiple touch position detection electrodes are equipped with first electrodes and second electrodes formed along a curved substrate surface. The first electrodes have a central part disposed in the center of the touch region and multiple tip parts that radiate toward the marginal edge of the touch region from the central part. The second electrodes are disposed in the region which includes the marginal edge of the touch region and are disposed respectively between adjacent tip parts.
