<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element capable of using a variety of kinds of electrode materials and having a large area. <P>SOLUTION: In the organic electroluminescent element including an anode, a semiconductor layer, an organic light-emitting medium, and a cathode, when either the anode or the cathode is to be the first electrode and the other to be the second electrode, the second electrode is fitted in a non-light-emitting region, as well as the organic light-emitting medium is fitted between the first electrode and the semiconductor layer consisting of a non-monocrystal material. Moreover, the semiconductor layer of the light-emitting region is on the same surface as that of the second electrode, the second electrode in the non-light-emitting region is totally covered with the semiconductor layer, and the second electrode is electrically connected with the semiconductor layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
