<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the rate (SOC) of the charging capacity of a battery from being shifted to a high level even when a vehicle speed is high. <P>SOLUTION: When the rate (SOC (State Of Charge)) of the charging capacity of a battery is equal to or more than a prescribed rate S1, and the vehicle speed is in a high vehicle speed region, a correction power Pchg for discharge which is larger than that when the vehicle speed is in a low vehicle speed region is set, and the set correction power Pchg is subtracted from a power for traveling, so that a request power to be output from an engine can be calculated.
