<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain gastric volume reduction relating to gastric surgical operation method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a system of gastric reduction, an oral gastric device is inserted into the interior volume of the stomach of a subject, at least one barbed suture is inserted through the esophagus, the at least one barbed suture has a first end and a second end. The muscle has at least a first surface and a second surface, and at least one of the first end and the second end of the at least one barbed suture is introduced through the muscle. Then, at least a first pulling area and a second pulling area are formed, and at least one of the first end and the second end of the at least one barbed suture is pulled, so that the first pulling area moves toward the interior volume on the first surface and the second pulling area moves toward the interior volume on the second surface, thereby reducing the interior volume of the stomach.
