<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately perform each detection of drift toward leaner air-fuel ratio and detection of misfire due to the fluctuation of engine rotation when the engine is started. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The crank angle range for determining combustion condition and controlling fuel injection quantity (combustion condition detection window Wf) is set to an advanced angle side further than the crank angle range for detecting misfire (misfire detection window Wm).
