PURPOSE: An infrared sensor system for controlling the drive of the automatic door and an infrared sensing method using the same are provided to detect the existence of objects and the location information. CONSTITUTION: An infrared sensor system comprises a sensing part(200) and a video color deflection(240). The sensing part senses the infrared ray examining the infrared ray within the reading area. The sensing part changes the infrared ray to image data. The video color deflection in advance compares fixed standard image data with image data inputted from the sensing part. The video color deflection decides presence and location of object. The sensing part comprises an irradiation part(210) and a camera(220).
