<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of attaining miniaturization of the device, while improving the display image quality. <P>SOLUTION: The display device is provided with an illuminating light control element 12, having a plurality of individual reflection elements 121, capable of irradiating an optical modulation element for video 13 by individually reflecting incident light L1 from a light source 11 at an optional reflection angle. The reflection angle of the individual reflecting element 121 is individually controlled so that a uniform intensity distribution corresponding to the shape of the optical modulation element for video 13 is formed. Thus, the intensity distribution of the illuminating light L2, used for a display video, is uniformized with space-saving constitution, as compared with the conventional types. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
