PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-resistant polarizing film having excellent mechanical strength and optical properties.

SOLUTION: The water-resistant polarizing film contains an organic dye having an anionic group, and an acyclic compound having 2-5 nitrogen atoms. The acyclic compound is preferably a linear aliphatic diamine or a salt thereof, and more preferably a 2-8Caliphatic diamine or a salt thereof. The water-resistant polarizing film can be produced by bringing a treatment liquid containing the acyclic compound into contact with one or both surfaces of a polarizing film containing the organic dye.
