<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planetary gear type gearbox capable of constituting a multistage gear train in a simple configuration by suppressing passage torque without enlarging a gear arranged at the post-stage or providing an extra component such as a speed increasing gear. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An input side gearbox 10 for transmitting power to an intermediate shaft 21 from an input shaft 11 includes L, M and H clutches 12a to 12c, and two M, H planetary gear trains 13, 14 adjoining in the axial direction. The M planetary gear train 13 has a sun gear 13a, a carrier 13b, a ring gear 13c and a planetary gear 13e. The H planetary gear 14 has a sun gear 14a, a carrier 14b, a ring gear 14c and two sets of planetary gears 14e1, 14e2.
