The angle measuring instrument has two components, where the former component is fixed at a machine unit in pivoted manner and latter component is fixed on another machine unit (20). A sensing head is provided for scanning of division and has a locking element for fixing former component at latter component, so that the division is locked at a radial distance (Y) from the sensing head in the locked condition. An independent claim is also included for a measuring arrangement.
