PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a high frequency component of an image falling by an optical system without increasing a circuit scale, and also to reduce noise in a dark part. SOLUTION: A line buffer 1,623 is commonly obtained by an FIR filter as an edge reinforcing filter for reinforcing the high-pass component of the image and an IIR filter 1,621 as the low-pass filter 1,622 for reducing the noise. Switches SW1, SW2 turn on the FIR filter and off the IIR filter with the use of changeover signals when a noise amount is smaller, and at the same time, turn on the IIR filter and off the FIR filter when the noise amount is larger.
