<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse generator suitable for efficiently generating a pulse signal of a good signal level. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The pulse generator 100 includes unit pulse generating circuits 20_1 to 20_N each having an individual signal output portion to generate a unit pulse signal according to an input of an activation start signal D0, and a switch control circuit 30 and a selection switch 40 which select successively signal output terminals of a part of circuits scheduled to output the unit pulse signal out of the unit pulse generating circuits 20_1 to 20_N, electrically connect the selected signal output terminals to a common signal output line Pu_Cout, and electrically cut the signal output terminals of the remaining unit pulse generating circuits from the common signal output line Pu_Cout.
