The pump has a pump housing (2) with a bearing bore (4) mounted on an engine housing (1). An impeller wheel shaft (6) and impeller wheel (8) are mounted in the bore with a slide bearing. A revolution rate sensor is mounted on the pump housing immediately adjacent to the impeller wheel. A soft iron plate (10) and a plate of hysteresis material (11) rotate on the free end of the impeller wheel shaft in an annular pot (12) on the pump housing. A magnet coil (20) is arranged between the annular pot and a slotted pot (16) and a soft iron belt pulley (22) driven by the engine and with a rim of pole grooves (23) is mounted on the outside of the annular pot.
