<p>An apparatus is provided to be worn by a person for carrying a load attached thereto easily and without undue strain, comprising a yoke with a right shoulder pad and a left shoulder pad with a connecting structure extending therebetween, a securing means connected to the yoke and together configured for secured strapping about at least a portion of the person's body in a donned configuration, and at least one load strap coupled to the yoke and having a means for attaching the load near at least one end, whereby the yoke is securely donned on the person such that the yoke substantially maintains a desired position under various loading conditions. The present invention provides guidance to permit an ergonomically correct loading position on the shoulders and also distributes the load to the shoulders over a large surface area.</p> |
