PURPOSE: A liquid crystal panel and a liquid crystal display for improving display characteristic are provided to improve contrast ratio at a front direction of the liquid crystal display. CONSTITUTION: A first polarizing plate(21) is arranged in one side of a liquid crystal cell(10). A second polarizing plate(22) and a third polarizing plate(23) are arranged in the other side of the liquid crystal cell. The second polarizing plate and the third polarizing plate are arranged from the side of the liquid crystal cell. A first phase plate is arranged between the liquid crystal cell and the first polarizing plate. A second A first phase plate is arranged between the liquid crystal cell and the second polarizing plate.
