PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transaction device determining the number of bills on a real time basis without additional checking. SOLUTION: The automatic transaction device has: a plurality of attachable/detachable bill containing parts which contain bills; reject parts provided inside the plurality of bill containing parts, respectively, for containing the bills multi-fed at a transaction involving bill delivery; a bill number storage part which stores the number of bills inside each of the bill containing parts; a detection part which detects occurrence of multi-feeding; a conveyance control part which controls a conveyance part to convey the multi-fed bills to the reject part inside the bill containing part corresponding to the multi-fed bills in case of multi-feeding; and a bill number calculation part which calculates the number of bills inside the bill containing part corresponding to the multi-fed bills stored in the bill number storage part considering the multi-fed bills.
