<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform highly accurate distortion compensation control by enabling a distortion detection circuit to properly detect distortion that occurs in an amplifying unit even when an input level fluctuates. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a distortion compensation amplification device using an APD system, a data processing unit 10 accesses storage circuits 15a and 15b on the basis of a power value obtained by a power measuring instrument 6, and performs gain control of a gain control circuit 3 and phase control of a phase control circuit 4 through D/A converters 16a and 16b. Further, the data processing unit 10 accesses a storage circuit 22 in accordance with an input power value measured by the power measuring instrument 6, controls an attenuation amount of a variable attenuator 21 through a D/A converter 23 and enables a distortion detection circuit 13 to properly detect distortion that occurs in a power amplification device 5.
