<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst exhibiting sufficient performance in all catalytic performances such as stereoregularity, catalyst activity or a property of a polymer particle, and a manufacturing method for such a catalyst component. <P>SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method for the solid catalyst component (A1) for α-olefin polymerization, the solid component containing magnesium, titanium, a halogen and an electron-donating compound as indispensable components is subjected to contact treatment by a copper compound. Alternatively, in the manufacturing method for the catalyst component for α-olefin polymerization, the solid catalyst component (A1) is subjected to contact treatment by the components (A2), (A3) and (A4).
