<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air current generator of an elevator, replaceable in a proper timing, by easily grasping an abrasion state of an electrode, without requiring troublesome inspection work. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An abrasion detecting circuit 40 is arranged in the air current generator 30, and an electric current is made to flow to at least one electrode 32 of two electrodes 32 and 33, and its value is measured by an ammeter 44. A control device 50 notifies its effect via a notifying part 51 by determining that the electrode 32 is abraded to a degree of requiring replacement when an electric current value measured by the ammeter 44 is a preset value or less.
