<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent red coating having uniformly dispersed therein a red pigment exhibiting good heat resistance, transparency and colorability, and a colored lamp having the red coating applied on the surface of a bulb thereof. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The red transparent coating comprises, as the red pigments, an iron oxide-based inorganic pigment and an organic pigment and further contains a dispersant, a solvent and a binder. The manufacturing method of the red transparent coating comprises a step of mixing the red pigments comprising the iron oxide-based inorganic pigment and the organic pigment, a step of dispersing the mixed red pigments in a solvent, a step of mixing the red pigment dispersion with the binder.
