<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability in creating an electronic document. <P>SOLUTION: In a plurality of character strings obtained by dividing an electronic document at prescribed positions, numbers or alphabets are determined as variable characters. Then, as for the character string including the variable characters, the plurality of character strings the positions of the variable sections of which and the character strings of the fixed sections of which are the same are summarized into one character string excluding the variable sections, and the positions and variable characters of the variable sections are associated with the summarized character string, and the character string is stored as an example.
