<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new human deoxyribonuclease, referred to as human DNase II. <P>SOLUTION: The nucleic acid sequences encoding the human DNase II, thereby enabling the production of the human DNase II is obtained by a recombinant DNA method in a quantity sufficient for clinical use. The human DNase II has an acid pH optimum properties as characteristics of a DNase II protein, and does not require a divalent cation for activation.
