<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive or read multi-viewpoint images efficiently. <P>SOLUTION: A disassembler 301 disassembles an encoded stream containing image encoded data where a plurality of images respectively made from a plurality of different visual points are encoded, depth information encoded data where depth information indicative of a depth of specific space from at least one or more visual points is encoded, and parameter information encoded data where parameter information including visual point information for specifying a plurality of visual points, a basis of the plurality of images and the depth information, is encoded. An image signal decoder 307 decodes the image encoded data disassembled by the disassembler 301 to restore the plurality of images. A depth information decoder (for example, depth signal decoder 309) decodes the depth information encoded data disassembled by the disassembler 301 to restore the depth information.
