METHOD AND SYSTEM TO ALIGN MEDICAL INFORMATION RELATING TO FIRST COORDINATE SYSTEM IN SECOND COORDINATE SYSTEM USING MPS SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for aligning an image acquired in a certain coordinate system with an image acquired in another coordinate system to simplify catheter insertion.

SOLUTION: The aligning system includes a first medical positioning system 226 detecting a first position and direction of a body, a second medical positioning system 236 detecting a second position and direction, and an alignment module 232 to be combined with a second imager and the second medical positioning system. The first medical positioning system is related to a first imager 224 and relates the first image of the body to the first position and direction. The second medical positioning system is related to a second imager 234 and relates the second image to the second position and direction. The alignment module aligns the first image with the second image in accordance with the first position and direction and the second position and direction.
