<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an epoxy compound, by which a double bond-having organic compound (olefin) can be reacted with an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution under mild conditions without using an organic solvent to produce a multi-functional epoxy monomer in high catalyst activity and in good hydrogen peroxide efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: This method for producing the epoxy compound, comprising epoxidizing the double bond of the double bond-having organic compound with hydrogen peroxide as an oxidizing agent, is characterized by using, as catalysts, a tungsten compound, and a tertiary amine represented by formula (1) (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each independently a 1 to 22C saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon; Ar is a 6 to 10C aryl), and/or a quaternary ammonium salt having a 1 to 22C saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon, a 6 to 10C aryl group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
