<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for vapor-phase dehydration of glycerin, which is used in a vapor-phase dehydration reaction of glycerin to produce acrolein and has high selectivity of acrolein, and to provide a new method for producing acrolein, in which glycerin is used a raw material in the coexistence of the catalyst for vapor-phase dehydration of glycerin. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst for vapor-phase dehydration of glycerin contains tantalic acid, which catalyst can allow acrolein to be produced with high selectivity by the vapor-phase dehydration reaction by using glycerin as a raw material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
