The method involves evaluating an influence of an exothermically running reaction of the hydrocarbons contained in an exhaust gas (71,41) on an exhaust sensor (37) arranged in a flow direction behind the oxidation catalyst (35). The reaction heat is detected by the exhaust sensor. An independent claim is also included for a control device for controlling and regulating an internal-combustion engine.
